The second Panama Canal, named El Canal Ampliado, is one of the foremost civil works worldwide in this new millennium beginning. During the construction design E.D.In. was consultant for the large steel gates, carrying out among other their response analyses for extreme seismic events. Last, acted as expert witness for the Arbitral Tribunal, reporting on the seismic design criteria of the steel gates.
