Design of a skew arch bridge on the Tronto river, 90 m span, within a new by-pass in the Southern part of the town. Due to cost boundaries, it was instead selected a continuous composite deck alternative, also designed by E.D.In.

Bergamo-Lecco railway line

Reclassification assessment and upgrading for seven existing masonry bridges on the Curno-Ponte San Pietro segment, Bergamo-Lecco railway line. Noticeable the bridge on the Brembo River, opened in 1863 and comprising 11 arches with 32m maximum span.

Storstrøm Crossing

The Storstrøm is a road, railway and pedestrian bridge that crosses the Storstrømmen between the islands of Falster and Masnedø. Of about 4 km total length offshore, with 80 m typical spans and as main crossing a single mast cable stayed bridge with two twin 180 m spans. E.D.In. is collaborating to the preparation of the construction drawings, with scope of work the substructures of the entire bridge.

Hisgaura cable stayed bridge

The Hisgaura cable stayed bridge, main span 330 m, is located on the Malaga-Curos route in the Santander region and is the second for span in Columbia. E.D.In. carried out an independent check of the final design on behalf of the Contractor with strongly critical outcome, such to induce its fundamental review.

Sydney North Rail

The Sydney North Rail is a 4 km link entirely on viaduct, comprising as main crossing the Windsor Road cable stayed bridge, centre span 180 m, and numerous spans between 30 and 40 m in length. Scope of work comprised the independent numerical analyses of the erection stages of the main crossing, as well as consultancy for the resolution of significant issues arisen during the construction, with permanent E.D.In. staff on site.

New Gerald Desmond

The New Gerald Desmond cable stayed bridge will replace, with a main span of 410 m and a clearance of over 60 m, the existing steel arch truss. Scope of work comprised in a first instance the preparation of an expert witness report on the design of the composite bridge deck, featuring a post tensioned lightweight concrete slab. In a second phase E.D.In. carried out an independent check of the erection stages, with an “over the shoulder review” carried out at the offices of the designer ARUP in New York.

Santos Guarujà Suspension Bridge, Sao Paulo, Brazil, main span 750 m, main crossing in an important road link on the Sao Paulo Harbour, preliminary design. Client ECORODOVIAS, 2020, at the moment discontinued due to the Sars Cov 2 epidemic.

Feasibility studies for two 2200 m span suspension bridges on the Sunda Strait, Indonesia, Stretto di Messina SpA, 1996, 2009, 2012

Collaboration with Dr. William C. Brown (Brown Beech Ltd) for studies comprising suspension bridges on the Rion-Antirion crossing, Dardanelles Straits, Java to Bali crossing, third Bosphorus crossing, Izmit Bay, 1986-2003.

Humber suspension bridge, centre span 1410 m, then the largest worldwide, research project on the aerodynamic stability in erection, University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, 1977-78.

15 July Martyrs Bridge

The second bridge to be built across the Bosphorus, with its span of 1074 m links Ortaköy (Europe) and Beylerbeyi (Asia) in Istanbul. E.D.In. did collaborate with the Designer William C. Brown for the catwalk design and for the analysis of the erection stages. After completion was in charge of installing and operating for one year a semi-permanent monitoring system, leading state of the art at the time, with numerical analyses and identification of the experimental behaviour of the bridge, with the findings transferred to the design of the Messina Strait Bridge design.
