15 July Martyrs Bridge
Turkey, 1985, 1988
The second bridge to be built across the Bosphorus, with its span of 1074 m links Ortaköy (Europe) and Beylerbeyi (Asia) in Istanbul. E.D.In. did collaborate with the Designer William C. Brown for the catwalk design and for the analysis of the erection stages. After completion was in charge of installing and operating for one year a semi-permanent monitoring system, leading state of the art at the time, with numerical analyses and identification of the experimental behaviour of the bridge, with the findings transferred to the design of the Messina Strait Bridge design.
